Someone heard about a release date for the beta?

I don't think anyone knows, 0bliv, Blizzard only said that: "It was coming soon."

I don't think it'll be this year; they've not finished with the Terran yet.

well, I think the Beta should come at the end of the year, but the final release may not be until 2010's spring...

I predict the Beta will come in 2010's spring. The full version might as well come a year later.

I actually hope it can come after I get a new computer... because I can't run SCII on this computer.

what would be the difference if its released before or after you get your new comp?

My friends would leave SCI for SCII, duh. Also, I want to get SCII as soon as it is released.

and, good luck to get SC2, lots of people may jump on it, and probably reserve it...

I doubt it D3 comes before SC2.

What I particularly am scared of is what will happen to all the maps on Starcraft? So many work done by people just all into flames.

well gee, people might not all leave starcraft. But yah, I guess you're right...but what scare me even more, is that people will remake SC1 maps and attribute them to their name.

Example: MilleniumArmy made minigame party, some random guy that gets SC2 could make a map thats is almost identic to the one in SC1 and tell he's the creator...

I just hope SC2 RP maps will be better than SC1 counterparts.

I can't do Terrain, that's why I don't make RP MAPS.

I'm good at terrain, but It's pretty long and boring... I hate to make it....especially cliffs

Well, if the SC2 terrain style is like the WC3 terrain style (I trifled with the editor a bit, and I like the result), then it'll make RPing better, since you can actually stack mountains and produce different types of cliffs, as well as dig "holes" in the ground. There'll also be more templates to choose from. What will be a pain in the ass is actually the remaking of all the triggers, though I doubt it'll be much of a problem, unlessBlizzard have deleted them altogether.

Yeah, I love WC3's terrain... triggers will atlough be terribly hard...new features will have to be added such as typing commands and stuff...wich I have no idea how to make.

Do you think they'll let us add player-created-units(like you upload an image, etc)

That would seem a bit too complicated.

They did it in Warcraft 3 though(think of dbz tribute if you played it)

Huh, good point. Do you think they might consider adding special units similar to heros in WC3 in expansion packs of SC2?

They announced that every hero would be unique...also they talked about adding SC1 units that aren't in SC2 such as goon and reaver. Who knows, they might add the famous protozerg hybrid...
